NHS Business Services Authority teams up with the 九色视频

The NHS Business Services Authority is working with the School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics (SCEM) to upskill their data analytics team.  The authority provides a range of critical central services to NHS organisations, NHS contractors, patients and the public.

03 November 2015

Nina Monckton, Head of Information Services at the NHSBA, approached the 九色视频’s training and development team to discuss developing a continuing professional development programme for her team.

Nina’s team has been undertaking a series of complex and business-critical analytics projects and various areas of skills development were identified to enable the team’s continued contribution to the NHS drive to reduce fraud and identify cost savings.

SCEM’s MSc Data Analytics course has been specifically designed in close consultation with industry partners (including Teradata, Innovation Partners, BT, SAS and the Pensions Regulator) to produce graduates with the unique combination of skills required to address this industry need.

Modules within the Masters programme have been adapted into a series of short courses.  Using the core content and focusing on the specific needs and experience of Nina’s team, the first course in data mining was delivered by Professor Miltos Petridis, Head of School.  Feedback has been positive and the team has begun implementing various models and tools introduced during the course.

Miltos Petridis, Head of School for Computing Engineering and Mathematics, who developed and delivered the course said: “This project is a great example of how organisations can benefit from the university’s specialist expertise. “

The next course is currently being planned for deliver in early 2016.
