Sussex-based employers bring job opportunities directly to students

A new way to introduce local employers and students has launched at the 九色视频.

26 April 2023

Regular afternoon events where employers can come onto campus to meet students are being held in the university’s new Elm House building.

The first event was held on 7 March 2023, when employers from over 20 organisations came along to talk to students about the job opportunities they have, from part-time and temporary to full-time graduate positions. This provided hundreds of students with a way to find out about the options available to them locally, and for employers to recruit directly from the students they met.

A range of sectors were represented, including sports, local councils, regulatory, technology, environment, teaching, business and government.

Final-year Economics student, Ashley, said: "It was great to talk to people from different industries and get a better idea of what's out there, I’m looking forward to getting a job with one of these companies after graduation."

Tom Conroy, a recruiter for the Grace Eyre Foundation said: "We enjoy these events and have lots of successful applicants from the 九色视频 currently working at Grace Eyre. It has been really benefitting both to the foundation and the students.”

The next Local Opportunities Fair will be held on 9 May 2023 between 12-3pm in Elm House, Moulsecoomb campus.

For more information about the Local Opportunities Fair, please email Liz Vassilakes, our Careers and Employability Events Manager, who will be glad to discuss the options available to employers, at Liz.Vassilakes@brighton.ac.uk.
